CAROLYN GABRIEL RN / BS, Social and Behavioral Sciences
Artist and author of several books and tapes, Carolyn is also owner and Innkeeper of Drift Inn Bed and Breakfast. She's a power walker, backpacker and kayaker and often walks with her mini-horse Honeybuns, and her dog, Sugar. (See Carolyn's writings about her dog Shadow, below.) Carolyn is a Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a joy to her friends and family. Although she has traveled many times to distant lands, the McKenzie River is her home and her inspiration.

Carolyn has been a Registered Nurse for 36 years. She has worked as a home health case manager, hospice nurse and medical / surgical nurse. She has also worked in labor and delivery, with new moms, and in the newborn nursery. Carolyn is a psychiatric RN and has worked for many years in hospital psychiatric settings as well as with home health psych patients.  She has been a substance abuse RN/ therapist with adolescents and adults, both in California and Oregon. She was Camp Nurse at Camp Easter Seal in Oregon, working with physically and emotionally challenged children and adults. Carolyn has also worked as a triage RN for a busy family practice clinic.

Carolyn is a private wholistic counselor with 25 years experience. She is also a Reiki / Therapeutic Touch practitioner and a group facilitator. Carolyn is a member of  Toastmasters International, Lane County Beekeepers Association, McKenzie Arts Forum, and Women’s Business Network and is a board member of McKenzie Community Track and Field.

Carolyn is a ‘people person’ and loves being an Innkeeper. She has enjoyed having guests stay at her Drift Inn Bed and Breakfast from not only all over the United States, but from England, Russia, Ireland and Japan as well. Guests are considered family, and as a mother of seven, family is something Carolyn knows a lot about!
